The b Series is Yamaha’s most affordable line of new upright pianos, built on the same scale design principles that run through the entire Yamaha range. Three heights: the 43-inch B1, the 45-inch B2, and the 48-inch B3, with up to four finishes per model. Each is also available as a Silent piano or a TransAcoustic, with the system fitted at the Yamaha factory rather than added afterwards.
The b Series acoustic uprights are built on the same principles as the rest of the Yamaha range, in a smaller cabinet and at a lower price.
The 43-inch B1 fits a room where space is the constraint. The 45-inch B2 adds string length and tone.
The 48-inch B3 is tall enough to carry a player well past the intermediate stage, which makes it the one to try if you expect the piano to last through years of lessons.
A b Series Silent piano is a complete acoustic B1, B2, or B3 with Yamaha’s SC3 SILENT Piano system built in.
Engage the system and the hammers stop short of the strings, so the room stays quiet while binaural CFX and Bösendorfer Imperial samples play through your headphones with the full weight of the acoustic action still under your fingers.
Practice at any hour without moving the piano or waking the house.
The TC3 TransAcoustic goes a step past Silent. Exciter speakers mounted to the soundboard turn the piano’s own body into the speaker, so digital voices resonate through real wood instead of a separate cabinet.
You can set the volume anywhere from a whisper to full presence without reaching for headphones at all.
Available on the B1, B2, and B3, with the same binaural CFX and Bösendorfer voices, Bluetooth, and onboard recording as the SC3.
