Product Description

The Yamaha CF6 Grand

Spanning seven feet of sheer acoustic brilliance, the handcrafted Yamaha CF6 brings the prestigious pedigree of the elite CF Series to a more versatile footprint. Constructed by the exact same master artisans—and utilizing identical premium materials—as the legendary nine-foot CFX flagship, this instrument is brought to life in Yamaha’s exclusive Concert Piano Workshop in Kakegawa, Japan. The result is a piano that defies its dimensions, producing an incredibly open, resonant tone and the commanding projection typically reserved for a full-length concert grand. It serves as the perfect centerpiece for sophisticated recital venues, professional teaching studios, and distinguished private collections.

Beauty & Power

The Perfect Balance of Elegance and Command

The Yamaha CF6 masterfully bridges the gap between delicate musicality and commanding acoustic volume. As a premium 7-foot instrument, it yields a vast spectrum of tonal colors, allowing pianists to express the finest musical nuances with ease. Yet, its power ensures that even the most fragile pianissimo passages carry clearly to the back of a concert hall, while its robust bass and vibrant upper registers can effortlessly project over a full symphony orchestra.

Piano Casing

Artisanal Craftsmanship from the Ground Up

Crafted in Yamaha’s premier Concert Piano Workshop, the CF6 features a unified one-piece inner and outer rim engineered specifically to maximize projection. Top-tier European spruce forms the soundboard and ribs, which are united using a specialized method that relieves structural stress and promotes rich, blooming overtones. The entire assembly is anchored by four sturdy Yezo spruce back posts and an iron frame that is individually sand-cast by hand.

Hammers

Unrestricted Tonal Clarity

An exclusive architectural feature reserved for the CF4 and CF6 models, the open pin block design drastically enhances both the initial attack and the sustained resonance of every key. This innovation gives the CF6 a striking immediacy and crystalline clarity that allows it to perform like a much larger concert grand.

Piano Wire

Precision Voicing and Acoustic Architecture

Yamaha treats and voices the CF6 hammers to deliver unwavering tonal consistency, shielding the instrument’s character from temperature and humidity shifts. Master artisans meticulously hand-wind the copper bass strings, while the piano wire itself is custom-engineered to optimize the specific harmonic wave patterns demanded by the elite CF Series.

Keys

A Flawless Connection to the Performer

The pianist’s tactile experience is elevated by proprietary Ivorite™ white keys, which closely mimic the porous, natural grip of authentic ivory. These are perfectly paired with solid, premium ebony black keys. Beneath the surface, the keybed utilizes highly seasoned Sitka spruce for unmatched responsiveness, while standard features like a soft-close fallboard provide modern convenience.

Finish

Contemporary Aesthetic, Timeless Build

Stripped of superfluous ornamentation, the CF6 boasts a strikingly contemporary profile. Its deep, polished ebony finish is achieved through rigorous, multi-layered coating and hand-buffing processes. Even the pedal lyre has been re-imagined to offer superior durability while complementing the piano’s minimalist leg design. The formidable 902-pound instrument rests securely on solid brass, heavy-duty double-wheeled locking casters.

Disklavier

The Ultimate Playback Companion

For artists, studios, or institutions requiring world-class recording capabilities, the CF6 can be equipped
